Our History

Partnering with the City of Berkeley, local run clubs, charities and businesses, Biofreeze Berkeley Half Marathon was created to give local runners a race on their home turf and celebrate the Berkeley community. Biofreeze Berkeley Half Marathon has aligned with local non-profit organization, Berkeley Public Schools Fund, since its inaugural year. Funds raised by runners support programs that enrich educational opportunities throughout Berkeley. 2018 marks the 6th running of Biofreeze Berkeley Half Marathon since its inception in 2013. Like the city it calls home, Biofreeze Berkeley Half Marathon has grown and improved in remarkable ways over the year.

What to Expect on Race Day

Berkeley Half Marathon fills the streets of Berkeley with thousands of runners and spectators. The course celebrates Berkeley and takes runners on an unforgettable running tour of the city, whether they cross iconic Telegraph Avenue, trace along lively Shattuck Avenue and serene North Berkeley, or cruise along the waterfront. Each runner arrives with a unique goal and unites with our community to celebrate their outstanding accomplishments.
