Don’t Miss Out On The Community, Friendships, and Celebration

“I can feel just how supportive this community is,” says Vanessa Wallace, Biofreeze Berkeley Half Marathon Ambassador.

“It’s a fun course and it’s good to see people I haven’t seen in awhile,” says Charles Lim, another Race Ambassador this year.

Runners who come out to the same local races year after year become a community.

Charles said that over the years other runners have become his close friends and the races are like celebrations with your friends each year.

“I like to run with my friends at the start and end of the race and it’s fun to see runners at different places throughout the race when we go out and back,” says Charles.

And then they all go to brunch together after the race and celebrate what they’ve accomplished!

If you’ve also run the Biofreeze Berkeley Half Marathon in the last few years, you’ll want to come back again this year to reunite with your running friends and celebrate your accomplishments together at the end of the race.

The 2019 Biofreeze Berkeley Half Marathon is particularly special because the 2018 race was cancelled due to poor air quality from the Camp Fire.

Runners who weren’t able to run last year are excited to be able to get back out to Berkeley, enjoying the rolling hills, downtown streets, Cal Berkeley campus, and the waterfront views along the course.

But they’re also looking forward to the community and friendships they’ve made over the years.

For loyal runners coming out to run any of the Biofreeze Berkeley Half Marathon races (except the 1K) again this year, you will also get special thank you gifts:

• If you’ve run 2+ consecutive years, “Berkeley Loyal” will be printed on your participant t-shirt.
• If you’ve run 3+ consecutive years, you’ll receive a pint glass.
• If you’ve run 5+ consecutive years, you’ll receive a blanket.

If you’re a Berkeley loyal runner, make sure you’re registered for one of the races again this year.
