A big city marathon with a small town feel.

The scenic course—welcoming to runners of all levels—winds down historic Telegraph Avenue, passes through Sather Gate, and loops around the iconic UC Berkeley campus. You’ll take in the charm of North Berkeley and the buzz of the Fourth Street district as you make your way toward the finish line, with crowds of community members and fellow runners cheering you forward.

Corrals

Start Location: Milvia St. at Kittredge St, Berkeley, CA 94704

Runners will be assigned to a lettered start corral based on their Estimated Finish Time (EFT). The corral assignment will be printed on your bib number. Large flags will designate the corral entrances at the start line – please enter the corral at the flag that corresponds to your corral assignment.

All runners need to be in their corral 15 mins prior to the start of the race – the official start time for the half marathon is 7:30 am. As the race starts, corral monitors will bring your corral group forward to the Start Line to start the race.

Corral time and locations are subject to change.

Course Limits

All Half Marathon participants are required to finish the race within 4 hours, an 18:20 minute/mile pace. The Finish Line will close promptly at 12:00 pm. Runners who come in after this time will not be considered official finishers.

Water/Fuel Stops & Medical Care

There are 7 water stops where you can find water, hydration electrolyte drink and/or gel, medical, and toilets.

Perks & Benefits

All participants receive a technical fabric long-sleeved shirt. View sizing info here. Finishers receive a finisher’s medal, photos, electronic finisher’s certificate, post-event food (distributed in the finish line chute), beer garden beverage (must be 21 to enter), and finish line festival with music and photo ops.

Awards & Age Limits

Awards will be presented to the top three overall men, women, and nonbinary+ (NB+) finishers of the Half Marathon.

Prizes:

  • 1st Place – $150 Sports Basement gift card
  • 2nd Place – $100 Sports Basement gift card
  • 3rd Place – $75 Sports Basement gift card

In addition, wooden medallions will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age division for men, women, and NB+ categories.

Note: All awards will be mailed after Race Weekend. No on-site award ceremony.
