The Berkeley Half Marathon offers an outstanding tour of an exceptional city. Founded with the help of key community players and rooted in charity fundraising, this community-inspired race has something for everyone! Experience the best of Berkeley in this loop course by tracing vibrant Shattuck Avenue, winding through the serene residential tree-lined streets of North Berkeley, cruising along the waterfront near the Berkeley Marina and much more.   • Course Limits
    All Half Marathon participants are required to finish the race within 4 hours, an 18:20 minute/mile pace. The Finish Line will close promptly at 12:30 pm. Runners who come in after this time will not be considered official finishers.
  • Water Stops
    There are 7 water stops along the Half Marathon course, and Water Stop 3 has GU.

  • Amenities
    All participants receive a technical fabric long-sleeved shirt. Finishers receive a finisher’s medal, free photos, electronic finisher’s certificate, and individual care, both on and off the course and following – including food, beverage, heat sheet and medical care.

  • Awards and Scoring
    Awards will be given to the top three overall women and top three overall men in the Half Marathon. Age group awards will be given to the top three females and top three males in the Half Marathon in each age division. Top 3 overall winners will be removed from age group awards (no double dipping). Age group awards will be mailed after the event.
  • Divisions
    Half Marathon, 5K and 10K awards will be given to the top three finishers in the following age divisions: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
