NEWBAY TO BAY 10K CHALLENGE We have a new challenge and it’s called the Bay to Bay 10K Challenge!  Participate in our San Francisco Marathon 10K on September 19th, 2021, then run the Berkeley Half Marathon 10K on February 27th.  That’s all you have to do to qualify!  As a bonus, you will receive a  free in-training shirt, ready in time for you to start training for Berkeley (Early December 2021). Also, when you cross the finish line in Berkeley you will earn a coveted challenge pin!  Start this new challenge and earn a new pin every year!

Back by popular demand, our 10K Race is the perfect option for runners who seek a rewarding, beautiful, and fun race distance. Experience iconic Telegraph Avenue, run through Cal’s iconic Sather Gate, tour vibrant Shattuck Avenue, and enjoy a dramatic finish at Civic Center Park. 10K runners celebrate at the Main Finish Line in an exhilarating community running festival.

10K Race Details

  • Corrals

    Start Location: Milvia St. at Kittredge St, Berkeley, California 94704

    Runners will be assigned to a lettered start corral based on their Estimated Finish Time (EFT). The corral assignment will be printed on your bib number. Large flags will designate the corral entrances at the start line – please enter the corral at the flag that corresponds to your corral assignment.

    All runners need to be in their corral at the start of the race – the start time for the 10K is 8:30am. As the race starts, corral monitors will bring your corral group forward to the Start Line to start the race.

    Corral time and locations are subject to change.

  • Course Limits
    All 10K participants are required to finish the race within 2 hours, a 19:19 minute/mile pace. Runners who come in after this time will not be considered official finishers.
  • Water/Fuel Stops & Medical
    The 10k course includes 3 water stops where you can find water, UCAN Berry Hydrate electrolyte drink, medical, and toilets. No WS have GU energy chews.

    All participants receive a technical fabric long-sleeved shirt. View sizing info here. Finishers receive a finisher’s medal, free photos, electronic finisher’s certificate, and individual care, both on and off the course and following – including food, beverage, heat sheet and medical care.

  • Awards and Scoring
    Awards will be given to the top three overall women and top three overall men in the 10K. Age group awards will be given to the top three females and top three males in the 10K in each age division. Top 3 overall winners will be removed from age group awards (no double dipping). Age group awards will be mailed after the event.
  • Divisions
    Half Marathon, 5K and 10K awards will be given to the top three finishers in the following age divisions: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
